About Me

“One doesn’t stop seeing. One doesn’t stop framing. It doesn’t turn off and turn on. It’s on all the time.”

— Annie Liebovitz

Matthew Schott is an editorial photographer, based in O'Fallon, Missouri — but I'll take any opportunity to travel!

When I'm not taking photos, you'll find me teaching and advising the publications - web, newspaper, yearbook, broadcast - at Francis Howell Central High School. I also teach digital photojournalism and two introductory journalism courses.

My work focuses on capturing a moment in time, with most of my expertise in sports and documentary photography.

I look to make images that tell stories with a single frame. I'm always looking to learn more and have begun experimenting with macro photography.
